Alexis McKinney is formally a Digital producer at Nike contracted through Thesis. She was responsible for managing the process of content creation for product releases and promotion of sneakers and apparel. In past roles, she has created content strategy and award-winning campaigns for NBA teams. She also has experience in retail marketing, social impact, and branding. She graduated from Marquette with a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations.
After graduating, she took a gap year to serve with City Year Los Angeles working with high school students on Math and English. She signed up for a program she found on Teamwork Online called Accelerated Sports Career Academy aimed at preparing young professionals to transition into a sports-related careers.
In 2017, she landed a role with Portland Trail Blazers as an Inside Sales manager. Throughout her inside sales career, she earned awards for both effort and outstanding revenue. She became involved with celebration nights, DEI inclusion groups, and jersey planning committees. Eventually landing a promotion in Group Sales in 2019.
During her time in Group Sales, she was responsible for selling family shows. She worked closely with her team creating programs geared towards Scouts and other youth groups while still managing Trail Blazer clients.
2020 was a rough year and dealing with shooting of George Floyd, Alexis was able to utilize her voice to create change. She created the “It Could Be Me” video and was a part of the Racial Injustice Task Force. The RITF created the Racial Injustice initiative, a long-term commitment geared towards amplifying the work of non-profit organizations combating police reforms and racial injustice. This work led to her promotion into content creation.
